Notre Dame Schedules OU
By Pete Holiday on July 25th, 2007
Wait, wait, wait… I thought Notre Dame didn’t have time for Alabama’s shit, but now they’ve dumped Michigan for a few years and they’re scheduling new games with Oklahoma to fill in the blanks?
That’s not quite as conspicuous as scheduling another cupcake, but still… why not Alabama?

This is not intended as a low blow - but Alabama ain’t exactly Oklahoma these days. They could be in 2011, but… not yet.

I don’t think they’re far enough apart, even now, to make scheduling one or the other, even for the 2009 season, appreciably better than the other, to say nothing of 2011.
Saban’s recruiting class this year was better than Stoops’ and I really don’t think they’re that far apart. Oklahoma should have a better season than Alabama this year, but next year? Who knows… give Saban another huge recruiting class and we could be looking at Alabama playing better football than Oklahoma. Remember that two seasons ago Alabama was 10-2 while OU was 8-4.

All that to say nothing of the fact that ND said just weeks ago that they really wanted to play Alabama, they just didn’t have the time.
